Artist Statement.

My work explores themes of physical, cultural, and environmental decay. Revealing objects and settings that have integrated with, or have been intervened by some form of linearity is common in my process. These relationships often present a tragedy that is becoming increasingly invisible. Exploring beauty in the mundane is also a point of departure.

Within painting and drawing, my processes of application, removal, and re-application allow me to create new marks, and alter the original intention of an image. Thus, much of my work is aimed more at creating a feeling within the viewer- exploring color, texture, and depth of field- than providing discernable imagery.
